Cyber Thrifting: The best online second-hand stores

Thrifting addicts, people who get overwhelmed in a place like a typical thrift store, and lads who now figure out why buying second-hand is that important, this article is for you. We have already talked about

ethical, quotes

thrifting apps and other cyber-spaces where you can find or sell stuff. Today though, we present to you the catalogue of our favourite online second-hand shops.

Remember, perhaps this list could motivate you to shop ethically. First of all -in order to shop consciously- whenever you want to buy something, ask yourself “Do I really need this -that black cape?”. If yes, then ask yourself “Does it needs to be new?”. If you are going to buy undies or socks it is definitely a yes. Everything else, it is a no –at least in our opinion. So if it is a no, your options are flea-markets, vintage boutiques and second-hand shops. The latter we have covered in this article. From our personal experience, we do find buying vintage online easy peasy, but not that rewarding than the actual old-school thrifting in your local shop.

ASOS Marketplace

It claims to be the home to the best up-and-coming independent brands and vintage boutiques from around the world. ASOS Marketplace is one of our top choices when it comes to online shopping. Here you can find everything you can imagine, from 90s fashion to stationery. The price range can be three up to 330 euros. Remember, when you shop at Asos Marketplace you basically shop from a vintage boutique, so the shipping rates may vary.

Rockit

Rockit was established in Camden, London back in 1986. Nowadays they have four stores in London and among them an iconic one in Brick Lane. Definitely, go pay a visit if you are around, it is worth it. Their collection has only the very best retro clothes and vintage fashions. Their range includes pieces dating from the 1930s up to the 1990s, taking in every trend from every decade in between.

Top Vintage

This vintage boutique is located in Deutschland, though it is selling Europe-wide. Top Vintage online shop is basically the epitome of vintage aesthetic. Here you will find a huge selection of vintage clothing from pretty much every decade. They specialize in the 1950s and particularly in feminine pin-up, retro fashion. While you are thrifting online here, you will find from retro jewellery, pumps, accessories and rockabilly dresses to romantic hats. The prices here are normal –not your average thrift store- but once you’ll get registered, you’ll get a -10% coupon code to save some pennies for cigarettes.

Vite en Vogue

Another German online store. Vite en Vogue is more of a polished marketplace, full of designer second-hand goodies, in the best prices. As in Vestaire, every piece they offer for sale has been verified by their experienced purchase team for authenticity, quality and age. They are located in Hamburg and they ship in E.U. They also have a very good returns policy. Their motto is “While our designer fashion is second-hand, it definitely is not the second choice!” and after all this being said, we are going for some thrifting.

KleiderKreisel

Kleiderkreisel is the German second-hand platform where you can buy, sell clothes. Find cool styles or give your clothes a second life. It has many active users and the prices begin at 1 euro. It feels like an actual thrift store, so if you are willing to do some digging you would find some bargains. You can use it both ways, application and online. It is handy and easy to use. Apart from buying and selling, you can swap stuff with other users or give for free -something that Germans are used to. Ready to thin out your closet?

e-bay

Our most used marketplace is the now classic, eBay. Above all, we love bidding at auctions. E-bay is so big that you really feel that your options are endless. It is universal, it is trusted and it is easy -comes with an app too. We definitely recommend it.
